Who we are
WA Health is Western Australia’s public health system. Covering more than 2.5 million square kilometres, it is the largest area in the world managed by a single health authority. Beyond hospitals and clinical care, WA Health delivers a wide range of programs and services that support the health and wellbeing of all Western Australians.
We are committed to fostering the next generation of professionals in the non-clinical side of the health system. Through our Internship Program, current university students are given the opportunity to apply their studies, contribute to meaningful projects, and experience first hand the scale and diversity of WA Health. Interns may be placed in any business teams at the Department of Health that work to support the statewide heath system.
About the program
The WA Health Internship Program is a structured, 15 week placement designed for current university students. Running between 9 February 2026 and 22 May 2026, the program offers around 225 hours of part time paid work in a dedicated corporate team.
Interns are supported to develop workplace skills, gain exposure to key projects, and build professional networks that support their career journey.
We welcome applications from students across a wide range of disciplines including Public Health and Policy, Communications, Human Resources, Data Science, Business, and Science. Students from other fields who are interested in non-clinical careers in the public sector are also encouraged to apply.
