About the program

At Treasury, we are at the centre of government decision making. Together we make a real difference, working towards a common goal of economic, social and environmental sustainability for Western Australia.

The Treasury Vacation Internship Program is a structured development experience over 2 placements that run for 8 weeks during the 2024-25 summer break and 5 weeks during the 2025 winter break.

As an intern, you gain valuable knowledge and skills working for one of the state’s central public sector agencies whose work and advice is fundamental to supporting the people and communities of Western Australia.

  • Exposure to high profile government projects and an opportunity to develop your understanding of the public sector while working in a fast paced and dynamic central government agency.
  • Two placements over the summer and winter vacation periods providing you the opportunity to build your professional networks and experience the diverse range of work Treasury is involved in.

Eligibility requirements:

You must:

  • be a current university student in your penultimate or final year of study
  • be undertaking a minimum 3 year undergraduate degree in one of the following – Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics, Actuarial Studies, Law, Public Policy, International Relations and Data Science or Mathematics
  • have an academic status of ‘good standing’.
