About our program

The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation has a vision for a strong and diversified economy. We work to deliver secure, quality jobs through increased investment across a broad range of industries.

Our new Mila Kaaditj employment program is a great opportunity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people aged 18 and older who have completed at least one semester of their undergraduate degree.

We provide financial support for your uni fees, great pay and mentoring and support to set you up for an exciting career.

You are appointed for one year with the option to extend for another one to 2 years. Each year our flexible approach will help you combine awesome on the job learning experiences with your tertiary studies.

Your diverse work may include event planning, stakeholder management, speech and government writing or analytical research, so no matter what area you study, we encourage you to apply.

After successfully completing the program and your university degree, you will have the opportunity to be considered for a full time permanent position in our department.
