The Public Sector Commissioner approves temporary special allowances above Level 8 salary.
Agencies are required to provide the Commission with information to assess the work value to be undertaken including:
- temporary allowance classification level requested
- expected duration of temporary allowance
- summary of additional responsibilities (or finite body of work) including their source (for example, new function, project, policy or redistribution)
- current and temporary position descriptions (if applicable), mapping functional changes to each of the 8 work value factors.
