Under the classification and remuneration process for executive positions the following apply:
- A chief executive officer seeking to have a position classified or reclassified submits a classification assessment proposal to the Commission.
- A chief executive officer seeking to have a new position included in the Special Division submit a classification assessment proposal to the Commission who liaises with the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal on the position’s inclusion, classification and remuneration.
- A chief executive officer seeking reclassification of a Special Division position contacts the Commission in the first instance.
- An agency does not need to engage an external consultant to undertake a classification assessment or prepare a submission.
- The Commission consults with an agency and seeks additional information as required.
- A chief executive officer discusses larger scale and more complex structural and classification changes with the Commission before submitting documentation.
