Past selection processes may offer a ready-made source of people who have the skills, knowledge and attributes for a job so you can save time and costs when a vacancy arises.

Actions
- Select a person who best meets job, team and agency requirements, and advise others they remain available for future vacancies until the selection process expires.
- There are no breach rights when selecting from a previous process but existing staff may lodge grievance about the decision. It’s good practice to explain your reasoning to support transparency and uphold your agency’s reputation.
- Provide a letter of offer to the applicant you want to appoint and, once the acceptance is received, commence on-boarding.
