The Western Australian LNG Jobs Taskforce

Bringing together government and industry to maximise local jobs and establish Western Australia as a global LNG hub.
Last updated:

Natural gas is playing a major role in the world’s energy mix, as more countries commit to reducing greenhouse gases and seek alternatives to higher emissions fuels.

Western Australia (WA) is a world leader in the delivery of natural gas and is ready to take the next step to create new opportunities, to bolster our position as a global energy hub.

Established by Premier Mark McGowan in 2018, the LNG Jobs Taskforce brings together industry, government and unions to collaborate on challenges and opportunities for WA's existing LNG sector, with the aim of maximising local jobs and establishing WA as a global LNG hub.

The LNG Jobs Taskforce is comprised of the Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade; heads of Woodside Energy, Chevron Australia, Shell Australia, Santos, and INPEX Australia; and representatives from the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) and UnionsWA.
