The panel discussion is titled, 'Oh the Places You Will Go! Powering the Energy Transition - the Future Skills, Jobs, and Careers to Achieve Net Zero'.
The discussion, to be held on Friday, 17 March 2023 at 12:30pm, should be of interest to high school, tertiary, and trade students.
A diverse panel of experts will discuss the skills, jobs and careers needed to achieve Net Zero.
Members of the panel will represent energy sector companies, including Woodside Energy Ltd and Chevron Australia, and also TAFEs, universities and research organisations.
Some of the likely topics will include:
- Diversity and inclusion in the energy sector
- Exciting projects the speakers are working on or locations they have visited.
- Pathways that could lead to a career in the sector in addition to traditional STEM and engineering courses.
- Skills used in the oil and gas sector that are transferrable to future industries.
Keynote speaker will be Jeremy Campbell-Wray, Global Accounts Director at energy technology company Baker Hughes.
The discussion will be moderated by Rebecca Brown, Director General of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
The session is an initiative of the LNG Jobs Taskforce’s Education and Operations Working Group.
