MSWA provides vital support and services to people living with neurological conditions in WA, with 18 facilities throughout metropolitan and regional WA. Their presence is continuing to expand alongside an increasing client base, requiring more travel by staff.
"MSWA made a commitment to environmental sustainability."
Due to its expanding footprint, MSWA made a commitment to gradually convert some of their fleet when they could. Charge Up provided the perfect opportunity, with MSWA successfully applying in rounds 1 and 2 of Charge Up.
"MSWA found the process of designing a cost-effective project relatively straightforward."
MSWA’s facilities management team were already familiar with the process of designing and implementing a project so they were able to use existing systems, processes, and staff. As a result, the team found the process relatively straightforward. In particular, consultations with electrical contractors to help determine the most cost-effective charger(s) and site design, and keeping project records for a smooth acquittal.
"MSWA has successfully installed chargers across five sites, improving processes over time."
With the support of Charge Up Grants, MSWA has successfully installed one 22kW AC dual port charger at each of five different sites – Albany, Belmont, Bunbury and Wilson. Over time, MSWA has improved processes such as introducing a swipe card system so they could track energy use, and staff could only access the chargers. MSWA has successfully received co-funding in Round 2 of Charge Up to install chargers at more sites to continue its fleet transition.
