Police issue infringements to pawnbrokers and second-hand dealers as an alternative for some offences. They can be given to individuals or companies.

Payment is not considered an admission for any civil or criminal court case and the infringement does not have to be declared on your criminal history.

You have 28 days from date of issue to pay the full amount online using Visa or Mastercard (note: you will need the reference number, which is located on the bottom left of your fine):

Refer to your infringement notice for a range of payment options if you would prefer to pay via an alternative method.

Final demand

A final demand notice with additional costs is issued if you haven’t paid your original pawnbrokers and second-hand dealers infringement by the payment due date.

If the final demand is not paid within another 28 days, your infringement will be recorded by the Fines Enforcement Registry which will incur additional costs.
