Many employers and employees in the WA state industrial relations system are covered by WA awards. WA awards are legal documents that set rates of pay and working arrangements in a particular industry or occupation.

Each WA award summary details:

  • what industries and/or occupations the award covers
  • the current pay rates and major allowances
  • working hours
  • leave entitlements, including minimum entitlements from employment laws
  • notice periods and entitlements when employment ends.

Some WA awards contain pay rates that are currently below the State Minimum Wage. The correct rates are published in Wageline’s WA award summaries.

The page for each WA award summary also includes previous versions of the relevant WA award summary for the past 6 years. These are provided as a resource for employers and employees.  The previous versions contain out-of-date rates of pay.

WA award summaries are only relevant to state system employers and employees

National system employers and employees can get award information from the Fair Work Ombudsman
