Western Australian industry training councils

The WA State Training Board currently recognises eight industry training councils, that provide advice on vocational education and training (VET) and workforce development issues.
Last updated:

Under Section 21(1)(b) of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996; the WA State Training Board recognises various industry training advisory bodies (known as industry training councils) from which the Board takes advice for the purpose of drafting the WA State Training Plan and making recommendations to the Minister for Training and Workforce Development on vocational education and training and workforce development issues.

The Board uses the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) codes 2006 (Revision 2.0) to allocate the industry areas covered by each of the industry training councils. This document details the industry sectors and ANZSIC codes covered.
