The WA Vocational Education and Training Act 1996

The Act identifies the structure of the WA State Training Board, and details our establishment, constitution, functions and powers. It also details further provisions relating to committees of the Board and its annual report.

Additionally, the Act prescribes how the vocational education and training (VET) system operates in WA, the establishment and functions of WA’s TAFE colleges and the obtaining of VET qualifications including the registration and administration of training contracts for the apprenticeship and traineeship system.
