Pilbara Energy Transition Aboriginal Working Group

The Pilbara Energy Transition Aboriginal Working Group has been created to understand the voices, perspectives and priorities of Traditional Owners and their communities in a clean energy future designed to benefit everyone.
Last updated:

The Pilbara Energy Transition Aboriginal Working Group (PETAWG) was established on 10 July 2024 to recognise the essential role that Traditional Owners of Country across the Pilbara have in the energy transition.

Decarbonisation and transitioning to a clean energy future involves working together and building and maintaining strong relationships between everyone involved.

The unique cultural heritage and Country of each Traditional Owner group across the Pilbara deserves to be protected, respected and celebrated. Clean energy projects should include and deliver opportunities to directly benefit Traditional Owners and communities, which is the purpose of this working group.
