Strategies to grow apprenticeships and traineeships in Western Australia

Independent report
This report is the culmination of statewide industry consultation forums hosted by the Western Australian State Training Board between August 2017 and March 2018.
Last updated:

Apprenticeships and traineeships provide valuable pathways for young Western Australians entering the workforce, as well as for mature aged or older people wanting to upgrade or reskill to find new employment opportunities.

Through the consultations undertaken in the development of this report, the Board has identified the common barriers faced by employers and apprentices. The consultations helped the WA State Training Board to understand what industry needs from the State's training sector and inform future strategies.

This report was released in January 2019.
