Through the Apprenticeship and traineeship policy, the Department of Training and Workforce Development  provides financial assistance to support off the job training being delivered to apprentices (including trainees, cadets and interns) who are, or would normally be, required to travel long distances to attend off the job training.

This financial assistance is the Travel and Accommodation Allowance (TAA).

These procedures for TAA provide an outline on eligibility, entitlement and claiming procedures for apprentices and training providers.

Please note that in this document; the term 'Apprentice' is used to refer to apprentice, trainee, cadet and intern.
