Last updated:

The At Risk Youth Strategy 2022-2027 provides support for young people with complex and multiple problems who are most at risk of requiring intervention and aims to work with these young people, their families, and communities to improve their futures.

The young people who are the focus of the strategy face challenges that put them at risk of harm, including family dysfunction, child protection concerns, mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing concerns.

For Aboriginal young people and their families, there may also be additional challenges associated with living in regional and remote areas, intergenerational trauma, and disadvantage across a range of indicators.

Communities is working with partner agencies, the community services sector, ACCOs, key stakeholders and young people in the implementation of the Strategy.
