Community Gardens Grants Program

Guidance
Grants of up to $10,000 are available to assist with the planning, development and implementation of community garden projects across Western Australia.
Last updated:

Green thumbs in our community organisations and local government authorities are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $10,000 as part of the State Government's Community Garden Grants Program.

Thanks to community interest, this year’s total grand funding has been increased from $100,000 to $300,000 and will ensure more applicants will be able to benefit from the program.

Grants provided through the program support the establishment and development of sustainable and edible community gardens in Western Australia.

Importantly, the gardens supported by the program also provide an opportunity for people to actively participate in the community, build relationships between neighbours and community members, and connect with nature and the environment.

Community organisations and local government authorities are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 per project, which can be used on a wide range of garden-related items and services; from plants, seedlings, and fertiliser to planning, design, and training services.

Successful applicants will demonstrate that their project encourages participation of the wider community and is a feasible and sustainable project.

Applications close on 21 August 2024. Download the Guidelines and Application Form below.

The grants program aims to encourage community members to participate in community life more actively; connect with the environment and other people within their community; implement and develop their skills; and to give back to the community.

In May 2024 a further thirty-five community-based organisations were awarded funding through the Community Garden Grants Program 2023-2024.

29 organisations received funding through the program in December 2023.
