The Aboriginal Procurement Policy (the Policy) mandates progressive targets for the award of contracts to Aboriginal businesses and from 1 December 2023 Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs). The target for the 2023-24 financial year was 4 per cent.

The data contained within this Infographic relates to contract award information extracted from Tenders WA for the period of 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 and is subject to the accuracy of that information.

In the 2023-24 financial year a record number of contracts were awarded to Aboriginal suppliers and there was a significant increase in the value of contract awarded. WA government awarded a total of 357 contracts to Aboriginal suppliers valued at $439 million representing 6.54 per cent of all contracts awarded throughout the state.

WA government continues its strong commitment toward contracting with Aboriginal suppliers. The number of contracts awarded to Aboriginal suppliers has approximately doubled since the Policy was introduced in 1 July 2018.
