Working with Children Check - Strengthens protections for children campaign

The Working with Children (WWC) Check is a compulsory screening strategy for people engaging in child-related work in Western Australia and the Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
Last updated:
The WWC Screening Unit’s latest campaign aims to raise awareness that the WWC Check strengthens protections for children by:
  • issuing Negative Notices to any person who poses an unacceptable risk of harm to children, which bans them from all forms of child-related work
  • reassessing a person’s suitability to keep their WWC Card if a person has a relevant change in their criminal history or a conduct review outcome.

The WWC Screening Unit is holding online information sessions for parents and guardians and organisation representatives to provide more information about the WWC Check and how it strengthens protections for children.
