Tourism WA: Strategies

Strategies and visions to grow Western Australia's visitor economy
Last updated:

This page contains the WA Visitor Economy Strategy (WAVES 2033), a 10-year plan launched in 2024, and related documents.

WAVES 2033 outlines a vision for Western Australia “to be recognised as a world-class destination that immerses people in its unique cultures, communities, and environment”.

The strategy also sets an aspirational goal for visitor expenditure to grow to $25 billion a year by 2033. The WA Government has committed $530 million over the next 4 years to support this goal.

This page also contains action plans to achieve the goals of WAVES 2033 – documents produced by Tourism WA and the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI).

Tourism WA is part of JTSI, but remains a statutory authority governed by a Board of Commissioners.
