The WA Visitor Economy Strategy (WAVES 2033) was launched in 2024.
This 10-year strategy outlines a vision for Western Australia to be recognised as a world-class destination that immerses people in its unique cultures, communities, and environment.
The strategy also sets an aspirational goal for visitor expenditure to grow to $25 billion a year by 2033. The WA Government has committed $530 million over the next 4 years to support this goal.
WAVES 2033 was produced by Tourism WA, which is part of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI), but remains a statutory authority governed by a Board of Commissioners.
