The State Government has launched the new Youth Action Plan, a three-year plan that will guide the delivery of a range of State Government initiatives to improve the outcomes of young people in Western Australia (WA).

The Department of Communities spearheaded the development of the Youth Action Plan and established an Interagency Working Group comprising relevant State Government agencies to inform and contribute to the Plan.

The launch follows over six months of consultations with over 2,000 young people aged 10 to 25 years old across WA, and collaborative efforts with more than 18 government departments.

Common themes were heard throughout the consultation process which have been used to develop the Youth Action Plan’s six focus areas including amplifying young voices; climate action; achieving goals; cost of living; supporting wellbeing and embracing diversity and inclusion.

The new Youth Action Plan demonstrates the State Government's commitment to engaging with and providing a voice to young people on issues that matter to them.

The full WA Youth Action Plan can be read on the Department of Communities website.
