If your vehicle licence plates have been lost or stolen you must fill in a form (PDF) and you will be issued replacement plates with different letters and numbers.
Damaged plates can be remade by completing the Application for Plate Remake form and taking it to a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional agent or posting it with a cheque or money order to:

It takes about three to four weeks for plates to be remade and you will be notified when they are ready to collect. You must take your damaged plates with you and have proof of identification (PDF).
