Academics and research institutions are encouraged to submit research proposals that strengthen data-driven decision-making with the aim of enhancing the lives of residents in Western Australia.

Requests for access to police data, information or personnel for research purposes will be assessed and prioritised against our policing priorities.

Assessing applications

Applications take a minimum of four weeks to be assessed (longer in complex or contentious research requests) and therefore should be submitted well in advance of the intended commencement date. 

Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed in writing of the outcome of their application.
