Apply for a programme of work

The Mining Act 1978 requires that a Programme of Work (PoW) is lodged and approved before conducting any ground disturbing activities with mechanised equipment.
Last updated:

PoW-S is a spatial lodgement system which caters for all PoW applications using a spatial platform. PoW-S enables proponents to input the individual items of their Programme of Work directly into the spatial system and will prompt for required details based on the type of activity and its location.

PoW applications can be lodged online via the Environmental Assessment and Regulatory System (EARS Online) until 21 November 2024. From 26 November 2024, online submission of PoWs will be via the Resources Online Portal. For the period of 21 November to 26 November, proponents will be unable to submit PoW applications online.

For further information please contact powspatial@dmirs.wa.gov.au.

PoW-P applications and Prospecting Rehabilitation Reports can be lodged in hardcopy format or online via Department of Energy, Mines and Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) submissions.
