The Pilbara Environmental Offsets Fund (PEOF) team is working with the Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation and Pilbara Mesquite Management Committee (PMMC) to co-design a biodiversity offset project situated along the Lower Fortescue River and Devils Creek.
This project is currently at the detailed project proposal phase of the PEOF co-design and engagement framework and the initial business case has been approved by the PEOF Project Recommendation Group.
The initial focus of this project is an integrated riparian management program and Matters of National Environmental Significance habitat improvement through weed management and camera traps. These efforts will likely build upon and increase the value of similar efforts being undertaken by PMMC upstream.
Further updates will be provided as the project development advances.
