TAFE International WA is the registered training organisation (RTO) and Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider for the delivery of training to international students enrolled in a TAFE course in Western Australia. It is regulated by the Australian Government’s Australian Skills Quality Authority.
Nationally recognised courses are delivered by the Western Australian TAFE colleges on TIWA's behalf at:
- Central Regional TAFE;
- North Metropolitan TAFE;
- North Regional TAFE;
- South Metropolitan TAFE; and
- South Regional TAFE.
TAFE International WA retains responsibility for the quality of the training and assessment delivered by the TAFE colleges, and for the issue of certification documentation to students.

Education Services for Overseas Students framework
TAFE International WA and the TAFE colleges deliver training and associated services to international students, in line with the requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
The courses offered by TAFE International WA to international students are registered under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students with the Australian Government.
WA Government schools
TAFE International WA also manages the placement of international students into WA Government schools, in line with the Department of Education's Enrolment of Overseas Student Schedule.
Recruitment and admission of international students
Prospective international students can apply to study at one of WA’s TAFE colleges or government schools through TAFE International WA in one of two ways, either:
- directly – by submitting an online application to TAFE International WA; or
- by using an education agent – TAFE International WA has a list of registered education agents contracted to recruit international students on its behalf.
Delivery of training to international students
After an international student has applied to TAFE International WA and been accepted into a course of study, their course is delivered by either:
- their nominated TAFE college – This TAFE college will also issue the student with the Award on the successful completion of their course, on TAFE International WA's behalf; or
- by their nominated Government school.
Courses delivered to TAFE students in Australia are nationally accredited according to the Australian Qualifications Framework, are competency based, and are taken from an industry approved training package.
Courses delivered to WA Government school students are accredited through the WA Department of Education’s School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
