Support for family of police and former police officers

The WA Police Force offers a number of support services that extend to currently servicing police officers and their family.

Former police officers may also claim a medical benefit scheme for injuries sustained while employed by the WA Police Force.

Families of the WA Police Force are encouraged to visit the Police Family Support website for information, practical advice and a list of services and support available to personnel and their families to help manage work, health and life issues.

Employees of the WA Police Force rely on the support of their partners, children and other family members.

This support is an important protective mechanism for all emergency services members, given the importance and challenging nature of the role.

Former police officers medical benefit scheme

Former police officers can claim medical and other expenses for injuries they sustained while employed by the WA Police Force by completing the claim form on the Insurance Commission of Western Australia website. 

Completed forms can be emailed to Claims.WR@police.wa.gov.au or mailed to:
