Western Australia has the most stringent well integrity and resource management conditions and regulations in the country for the petroleum and geothermal industries.

Before drilling operations are approved DEMIRS assesses applications to ensure work is conducted in accordance with good oil field practices and in a way that reduces the risk to the environment.
