Public sector employers and eligible employees can mutually agree to a voluntary severance payment to support an employee's voluntary departure from work.

Eligibility
Show moreAn offer of voluntary severance may be made to an employee:
- who has been deemed surplus to the requirements of their employer
- is unable to be transferred within their agency
- where there is a low likelihood of finding them employment elsewhere in the public sector
Offers should not be made to an employee who is part of an occupational group for which employment shortages or demands exist in the public sector.
