What information does the ServiceWA app collect about me?

If you choose to log in with your Digital Identity, the ServiceWA app collects your name, date of birth, email address and mobile phone number.

You can also choose to securely save, edit or delete your address and banking details to your ServiceWA app account. These details can be used for you to quickly and securely claim future offers and rebates through the ServiceWA app.

ServiceWA now has an optional 4-digit PIN and biometric validation to enhance the app security.

Can I set up my face or fingerprint identification without setting up a PIN?

No, in order to enable biometrics (face or fingerprint identification), you will have to set up a PIN first. However, you can set up a PIN only and not have biometrics set up.

Is the ServiceWA app secure?

The ServiceWA app is designed to keep your information safe. Since 12 September 2023, users have been given the option to access ServiceWA without logging in to their Digital Identity, offering streamlined access to government services and information.

Users will only need to provide their Digital Identity when accessing specific services that require it, such as Offers.

ServiceWA also has an optional 4-digit PIN and biometric validation to enhance app security.

Read the ServiceWA Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for more information.

Does ServiceWA track my location?

If you enable Emergency WA bushfire warning notifications in ServiceWA, you are allowing the app to detect your device location and send you bushfire warning notifications.

This requires location services to be enabled and 'Background App Refresh' (iOs) or 'Allow background data usage' (Android).

To provide you with bushfire warning notifications, the ServiceWA app refers to your last known location only, and does not keep a continuous record of your location.

How is the personal information that I provide the ServiceWA app used by the WA Government?

Why am I being prompted to set up a 4-digit PIN when I have just logged in?

The 4-digit PIN feature is an optional, additional security measure. If you do not wish to set up a PIN, you may click on the ‘Skip for now’ button. You may choose to set up your PIN at any time by accessing this in the ‘PIN and biometrics’ section in the Settings screen.

Can I set up my face or fingerprint identification without setting up a PIN?

No, in order to enable biometrics (face or fingerprint identification), you will have to set up a PIN first. However, you can set up a PIN only and not have biometrics set up.

How do I change the 4-digit PIN on the ServiceWA app?

Navigate to the Settings screen, click on the PIN and biometrics section and click on ‘Change PIN’ under the PIN option.

I logged out of the ServiceWA app and then logged back in, but my four-digit PIN setup has been removed. What should I do?

Logging out of the ServiceWA app will remove your four-digit PIN and disable any face or fingerprint identification security settings. Once you log back in again, you can set up your four-digit PIN and enable face or fingerprint identification security again if you wish to.

Why is there an address and bank account field in my Personal details page?

You can now save your residential address and bank account details in the ServiceWA app.

This will allow your information to be automatically prepopulated when you apply for Offers that require these details.

Additional security features such as a 4-digit PIN and biometric validation ensure this information is secure.

My address and bank account details were automatically saved in the Personal Details section of the ServiceWA app, even though I didn't enter them manually.

If you submitted a claim for the WA Student Assistance Payment (WASAP), you had the option to save your details for future use.

If you chose to do so, your address and bank account details will be stored in the personal details section of the app.

To remove these details, simply click the red ‘Remove’ text located below your address and bank account information. Click on the ‘Save changes’ button to ensure your changes take effect.

I can't find my address in the address lookup search bar. What should I do?

If you can't find your address, please scroll down past the suggested addresses and click on the ‘Add address manually’ text in red. This will allow you to enter your address manually.
