The Office of Digital Government, in partnership with the Department of Finance, has developed mechanisms to allow agencies to transition their ICT infrastructure into an “as a service” model, utilising cloud capability to transform how government utilises information technology.
Purchasing cloud services
Five Common Use Arrangements now exist to facilitate agencies’ purchase of cloud services, including associated services such as consultancy, transition and managed services:

- CUAICTS2021 – Information and Communications Technology Services
- CUAMS2019 – Supply of Microsoft Product Licenses and Licensing Solutions

The Office of Digital Government can assist agencies as they embark on their cloud journey in several ways:
- information and data classification advice, including privacy legislation
- high level cloud, risk, and controls advice
- cloud migration planning and decision making
- advice on cloud readiness assessments and other tools and resources to help agencies decide if cloud services meet their business requirements.
Once an agency has decided to adopt cloud services, the Department of Finance has a range of information to assist agencies with the procurement process.
