Support for Jurors

Jurors often find jury service interesting, diverse, and leave with a sense of achievement. However, jurors can sometimes find the experience distressing and this is completely understandable.

Free and confidential psychological support is available, via the Juror Support Program, in recognition of the potential psychological impact of Jury Duty.

Juror Support Program is available to anybody who has attended jury service in Western Australia, whether they are selected on a trial or not.

The Juror Support Program includes:

  • A professional and confidential counselling service for anybody summoned to WA Jury Service.
  • Up to 6 free (50 minute) counselling sessions with a registered psychologist with an independent provider.
  • Can be accessed after Jury Service has been completed, for up to 6 months.
  • Appointments available in-person and via telehealth.

When you make an appointment you will be asked to provide some personal information to create your clinical care file. The Juror Support Program from PeopleSense is private and confidential, meaning the content discussed, and even the fact that you have used the service, stays between you and your psychologist. Personally identifiable information relating to your session attendance and matters discussed will not be shared with another party without your written consent.
