Science and Agribusiness Connect

Science and Agribusiness Connect aims to build the capability of Western Australia’s agricultural science sector by building research excellence in agriculture, boosting the work readiness of students in agriculture, and fostering entrepreneurship in the sector.

The 3 Science and Agribusiness Connect programs are the:

  1. $1.5 million Premier’s Agriculture and Food Fellowship Program which has funded a Premier’s Fellow and a Premier’s Early to Mid Career Fellow in agriculture and food.
  2. $880,000 Tertiary Program, which connects WA university students with industry and regional experience through work experience, scholarships and exchanges. The Tertiary Program is delivered by Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, The University of Western Australia and iPREP.
  3. $360,000 Agriculture and Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Program which provides scholarships of up to $20,000 each for people working in these sectors. 

Science and Agribusiness Connect is administered by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and is supported by Royalties for Regions.
