Mineral and petroleum royalties

RevenueWA and DMIRS are working collaboratively to administer mineral and petroleum royalties.

On 23 June 2021, the WA Minister for Finance announced the transfer of the mining and petroleum royalty collection and administration functions from the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) to RevenueWA.

RevenueWA and DMIRS are working together to make the transfer. 

Your usual processes are not changing yet

Your lodgment and payment requirements have not changed.  You should continue to:

  • use Royalties Online to electronically prepare, lodge and view royalty returns and production reports.
  • make payments to DMIRS.

Our email addresses and phone numbers have not changed.  Please continue to contact DMIRS if you have any questions or need to speak with a Royalties Officer.

RevenueWA and DMIRS will notify you before changes are made to your lodgment and payment requirements or our contact details.
