Last updated:

WorkSafe assists the regulator in the administration of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WHS Act).

The principal objective of the WHS Act is to provide a framework to protect the health, safety and welfare of workers in Western Australian workplaces, and of other people who might be affected by the work.

WorkSafe works to support a safe, fair and responsible future for the Western Australian community, industry and resource sector. The implementation of work health and safety laws was a top priority for the Government of Western Australia and the division. Consistent with this priority, the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 came into effect on 31 March 2022.
