There are a range of support services for victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault as well as support for perpetrators of violence to change their behaviour and for families that live in communities impacted by mining culture workplaces.

In the following accordions are more support services.

1800RESPECT

1800RESPECT is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Social Services to provide support for:

  • people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, domestic, family and sexual violence
  • people supporting someone experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, domestic, family and sexual violence
  • professionals supporting someone experiencing, or at risk of experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence.

Confidential information, counselling and support service is available for free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support people impacted by domestic, family or sexual violence.

Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Services

Ishar’s purpose has been to serve and support the refugee and migrant women in the community. They provide holistic services to women from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds. Ishar is an LGBTQIA+ friendly service and welcomes women of any sexual orientation, anyone who identifies as a woman and anyone who was assigned a female identity at birth.

Ishar’s services are provided by women, for women and are bulk-billed, low-cost or free. They can also provide access to free interpreters.

Mental Health Commission

Mental Health Emergency Response Line

The Mental Health Emergency Response Line (MHERL) is a 24-hour telephone service for people in the Perth metropolitan area experiencing a mental health crisis.

For people living in regional and remote areas of Western Australia, Rurallink provides an equivalent service overnight and at weekends.

Alcohol and Drug Support Line 

For confidential, non-judgemental telephone counselling, information and referral service for anyone seeking help for their own or another person’s alcohol or drug use.

Alcohol and Drug Support Line services are free and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
