The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) is committed to providing a positive work environment that supports flexible work to enable employees to balance their work and non-work commitments. This includes a variety of leave and flexible work arrangements.

Pay and leave

  • 11.5 per cent superannuation contributions to a provider of your choice;
  • 20 days of annual leave per year;
  • annual leave loading paid every December;
  • up to 15 days personal leave per year;
  • 13 weeks of paid long service leave every seven years (available at half pay for 26 weeks);
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave (after 12 months of service);
  • option to purchase an additional 10 weeks of leave per year;
  • salary packaging options;
  • three repealed public service holidays per year;
  • cultural and ceremonial leave;
  • bereavement leave;
  • study leave.
