Respect@Work
In 2020, the Australian Human Rights Commission handed down the Respect@Work: National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces Report, which outlines 55 recommendations for government, industry and the community to end workplace sexual harassment.
The national Respect@Work website brings together a comprehensive set of resources to support individuals and organisations to better understand, prevent and address workplace sexual harassment. You will find information, videos, advice, good practice guides, education and training programs and workplace-assessment tools.
The Western Australian Government has committed to the full implementation of all the recommendations. To track our progress, go to the Implementing Respect@Work Progress Report.
Enough is Enough
The 2021 Enough is Enough Parliamentary Inquiry Report exposed significant sexual violence towards women in the mining industry. 24 recommendations were made to improve the mining industry culture and regulatory framework.
The Government considered in detail the recommendations of the Enough is Enough Report and provided a Response in which it supports in total or in principle, all 15 recommendations directed to it for implementation.
The Government also created the Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Program a whole-of-Government initiative to improve the mental health, workplace culture and safety in the mining industry.
A subsequent Progress Report was tabled in parliament on 29 November 2022. The Minister for Women’s Interests continues to work with the Minister for Industrial Relations on the implementation of the recommendations.
