Every year across Australia, a host of events take place to acknowledge and say thank you to the many valued volunteers who provide vital services across our communities. We provide and support opportunities to recognise volunteering and value the contribution it makes to our communities.

Department of Communities WA Volunteer Service Awards

The WA Volunteer Service Awards are an opportunity to thank and acknowledge volunteers who give their time and talents to support their communities.

Since the WA Volunteer Service Awards commenced in 2012, 3579 individuals have been recognised for their incredible service to Western Australian Communities.

In 2024, the Awards program was refreshed to reflect contemporary volunteering and enhance recognition of volunteer contribution across Western Australia.

Nominations for 2024 are closed.

Volunteering WA’s WA Volunteer of the Year Awards

Volunteering WA promotes the value and important contribution of volunteering to the social, cultural, economic and environmental well-being of Western Australia through its annual WA Volunteer of the Year Awards.

There are five award categories for individuals and three award categories for organisations, with the awards ceremony held during National Volunteer Week each year.
