Kate and her family have cared for children in foster care for the last 12 years and have had the privilege of being a safe harbour and walking beside children in care for part of their journey.
As a foster carer, Kate has assisted with the reunification of children with their parents and families. These diverse families have taught Kate respect and compassion for the complex lives some parents have experienced.
Kate has enjoyed getting to know many of the staff at the Department of Communities and has a deep admiration for the work they do.
Fostering brings together the most inspiring group of carers who are diverse yet share a common goal to make the life of each child a little better.
