The Department of Communities (Communities) supports State and local recovery efforts by coordinating the emergency relief and support activities to help communities recover after an emergency.

Our Role

Western Australia’s recovery activities are underpinned by the National Principles for Disaster Recovery and are delivered across four recovery environments: social, built, economic and natural.

The scope of support available is outlined in the State Support Plan - Emergency Relief and Support and appropriate services will be determined based on disaster impact.

Kimberley Flood Recovery

Mariginiup Bushfire Recovery

Communities is working alongside partner agencies to co-ordinate immediate and long-term support for City of Wanneroo residents impacted by the Mariginiup bushfires.

Bunbury Storm Recovery

Communities is working alongside partner agencies to coordinate support for City of Bunbury residents impacted by the recent weather event and tornado.
