Closing the Gap - East Kimberley place-based partnership and the role of DLGs

  • Renee Gioffre is the Regional Executive Director of the Kimberley for Department of Communities. She brings more than 20 years of management experience in human service delivery and strategic planning across WA and the UK. She has a Bachelor of Social Work and postgraduate studies in public sector management and is currently completing the ANZSOG Executive Masters Program.
  • Renae Hodgson is the Project Manager for Closing the Gap at the Department of Communities, working in the Aboriginal Outcomes Division. Her team builds the capacity and understanding of Communities’ staff to implement the 2020 National Agreement on Closing the Gap. Renae is passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Joyce Torres, Engagement Director Derby/Fitzroy Crossing, National Indigenous Australians Agency, has strong connections with Yaruwu, Nykina and Jibirr Jabbir language groups of the Kimberley. Joyce is based in Derby as the Engagement Director for Derby and Fitzroy Crossing for the past four years. She has 20 years’ experience working in the Indigenous Affairs portfolio in the Commonwealth Government and is a strong advocate for communities of the region she works.
