Wanju District Structure Plan

Plan
The purpose of the Wanju District Structure Plan is to set out the key planning principles that will help establish a new urban development for the Greater Bunbury region.
Last updated:

Wanju is set on 1210 hectares to the east of the Eaton townsite within the Shire of Dardanup

The name ‘Wanju’ means ‘welcome’ in the local Noongar language, and was chosen by the Shire of Dardanup following a public naming competition.

Wanju will offer a range of multi-storey housing, an emphasis on a mix of uses, and opportunities to walk, cycle and use public transport not previously seen in regional Western Australia.

The Collie River and Millars Creek foreshores will be enhanced to act as important ecological, recreational and surface water management corridors.

The Greater Bunbury Region Scheme and the Shire of Dardanup’s Local Planning Schemes will be updated to reflect the new Wanju District Structure Plan.
