Specification for Digitisation of State Records

This Specification sets out the minimum requirements to be met for government organisations to digitise records.

All Western Australian government organisations must comply with this Specification when digitising records to use as the official record. 

The reproduced record must meet the requirements outlined in the SRO’s Specification for Digitisation of State Records. Reproductions must have the same evidential value as the original record to meet the organisation’s business requirements.

This Specification must be read in conjunction with the:

  • General Disposal Authority for Source Records,
  • SRC Standard 7 - State Archives Retained by Government Organisations and
  • SRC Standard 8 - Managing Digital Information.
