Applications for the Investment Attraction Fund New Energies Industries Funding Stream will be paused from Wednesday 19 June 2024 at 5:00pm AWST due to a significant volume of applications received to date.

About

The Investment Attraction Fund (the Fund) encourages new investment that will create local jobs, scale up local businesses and contribute to a more diversified economy.

Successful applicants to the Fund will be eligible for:

  • Financial assistance in the form of grants and loans available under Section 9 (a) and (b) of the Industry and Technology Development Act 1998, subject to a Financial Assistance Agreement (FAA).

Unsuccessful applicants to the Fund that demonstrate a meritorious application may be eligible for

  • Investment facilitation support and/or referral opportunities to other appropriate State sources of support and/or funding. Investment facilitation can include providing access to services, programs and initiatives for businesses looking to establish and grow in WA.

Eligibility and criteria

Below are eligibility and application criteria for all applications of the Investment Attraction Fund. 

Who can apply

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:

  • Be registered or be eligible to register for an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Be a legal and solvent entity, or partnered with a legal and solvent entity, with a proven trading history for the past 3 financial years as accepted in their domicile (as a minimum)
  • Be able to provide a business plan and evidence that supports management, technical and financial capability to undertake the current proposal.

Details of the criteria are available in the Investment Attraction Fund Guidelines found which you can download below and in the relevant Funding Stream Applicant Information. Please be sure to read these guidelines. These enable the Panel to evaluate a project’s significance to the State and determine the potential economic impact of the State’s financial contribution.

Tips to applying

  • Read the Fund Guidelines (available to download below)
  • Read the relevant Application Information Funding Stream 
  • All information and documentation must be supplied in English
  • No applications or documentation will be received by email or any other means other than via the grants portal
  • All decisions are final and made at the State’s absolute discretion
  • Feedback may be provided upon request at the conclusion of the process

Key milestones

  • The Investment Attraction Fund New Energies Industries Funding Stream will be pausing for new applications on Wednesday 19 June 2024 at 5:00pm AWST due to a significant volume of applications received to date.
  • After the pause goes into effect, no new applications will be able to be submitted until further notice.
  • Any queries can be directed to: IAF@jtsi.wa.gov.au.
  • Applicants are encouraged to refer to the WA.gov.au/JTSI and InvestandTrade.wa.gov.au websites for funding announcements
  • Existing applicants will receive notification of outcomes throughout the process via the registered email address provided in the EOI submission.
