Objectives and benefits of managing small rainfall events at source
Last updated:

This note outlines some of the objectives and benefits of managing small rainfall events at source. Managing stormwater ‘at source’ is undertaken for water quality and ecological protection purposes as described in the Decision process for stormwater management in Western Australia.

This approach will also help to reduce the need for large areas to accommodate stormwater management and prevent the collection and transport of pollutants to receiving water bodies.
