A major component of the drainage and water management plan is the completion of a flood modelling and drainage study for the study area. This requires the development and calibration of hydrologic and hydraulic flood models and subsequent floodplain mapping based on a range of design storm events.
The drainage study component involves the simulation of minor and major rainfall events to ascertain predevelopment peak flow rates, flood levels and flood storage for key locations at potential development areas within the study area. It also presents detailed flood mapping.
This study predates the East of Kwinana flood modelling and drainage study.
