The Coordinator of Energy is seeking applications for arbitrators and technical experts to support a dispute resolution process accessible by existing generators in negotiating generator performance standards and monitoring plans. Applications close 22 January 2021.
Last updated:

The Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) Rules have been amended to introduce a new framework for registering generator performance standards for all generating systems connected to the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) and an associated monitoring and compliance regime as of 1 February 2021.

These amendments include a time-limited dispute resolution mechanism for existing transmission connected generating systems. The dispute resolution mechanism is contained in Section 1.42 of the Tranche 1 Amending Rules (Amending Rules Gazetted and Awaiting Commencement)

The Coordinator of Energy (Coordinator) must appoint one Primary Generator Arbitrator, at least two Secondary Generator Arbitrators and an independent panel of not less than three experts that the arbitrator may call upon for advice.

The Coordinator is now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified arbitrators and technical experts based on the Selection Criteria outlined in the links below.

Interested parties are asked to submit their applications by no later than 5:00pm WST on Friday 22 January 2021 to: energytransformation@energy.wa.gov.au
